Bonding Powder TC70

Ceramic / tile fastening is one of the important jobs in tiling process. Then a proper fastening can not only fill the empty spaces between the ceramic tile seams but also play a waterproofing role and increase the beauty of the tile as well. Nowadays, the use of traditional methods such as grouting for bonding ceramic tiles has been abolished and various products in the field of bonding have been produced and introduced to the market. Cement-based bonding powder is one of the simplest materials used for bonding tiles/ceramics. Bonding and sealing powder is a cement-based product consisting of organic chemicals, mineral powders and copolymer resins which create strong and uniform bonds between the tiles. Consumption of this powder, in addition to blocking ceramic tiles, may increase the adhesion and impermeability to moisture. The use of ready-made compounds for bonding, according to the conditions and characteristics of the work site and the type of parts and materials used can play a more effective role in improving quality, increasing durability and strength, providing beauty and speed of execution. It is possible to create colored and beautiful bonds by combining organic and mineral pigments with a combination of bonding powder and bonding mortar.

Consumption method:

For bonding newly installed ceramic tiles: Combine every 20 kg of bonding powder with about 5 to 6 liters of water and spread it on the surface and smooth it by spatula. Then immediately wipe the surface of the tiles with a suitable damp cloth to remove the bonding mortar inside the filled joints and from the surface of the tiles as well.
To repair old joints: At first, remove the old joints with a spatula or a sharp object from the seams of the tiles, and remove weak or contaminated and greasy points with the help of water pressure and/or a brush. Then apply the bonding mortar made from the combination of bonding powder and water according to the above-mentioned method.
Pay attention that combination rate of water is different for floor and walls. In order to bond horizontal & ground tiles, it is necessary to consume more water to have grouting mortar. But for bonding of vertical tiles and walls, we should reduce the water to have rougher paste as well.

Consumption rate:

The consumption rate of bonding powder depends upon distance between installed tiles and dimension of tiles & ceramics.
Generally it is enough to use 250 gr of powder for one square meter of surface with any tiles with small dimensions like 15 x15 with bonds of 3 mm. In case of applying the tiles of 40 x 40 with the same distance, the consumption rate is about 150 to 200 gr/square meter.
