Standard Concrete Accelerator AC1000

گالن ۲۰ لیتری

Concrete Antifreeze AC1000, with its special formulation, both accelerates the hydration reaction and prevents the freezing of fresh concrete, enabling high‑quality concrete pouring in low temperatures. AC1000 is a chloride‑free chemical admixture designed to maintain concrete performance in cold temperatures. By preventing freezing and accelerating setting, it helps achieve initial concrete strength more quickly.

Properties and Effects of Concrete Antifreeze AC1000

Concrete Antifreeze AC1000 is one of the powerful admixtures in the construction industry that, by lowering the freezing point of water in the concrete mix, enables concrete pouring under low‑temperature conditions. This product ensures that the cement hydration process continues even in cold weather, preventing any reduction in the final strength of the concrete. Among the most important effects of Concrete Antifreeze AC1000 are accelerating initial setting, preventing freezing of water in the concrete pores, and improving the durability of the structure.

In projects requiring waterproofing and prevention of water ingress, using Concrete Antifreeze AC1000 together with waterproofing equipment such as waterstops can significantly improve structural performance. Waterstop, a PVC‑based sealing strip, due to its flexibility and proper thickness, is installed along joints and connections and prevents water from entering the structure. The combination of these two technologies — antifreeze for preserving concrete quality in cold weather and waterstop for preventing water ingress — results in a durable, stable, and safe structure, even under harsh climatic conditions.

Applications of Concrete Antifreeze AC1000

The applications of Concrete Antifreeze AC1000 are extensive, and in almost any civil project implemented at temperatures below 5 °C, its use is recommended as an effective solution. This product not only prevents freezing of water in the concrete mix but also improves the setting process and structural strength under unfavorable temperature conditions. Key application areas include:

  • Concrete pouring of foundations, walls, and columns in cold seasons

In projects involving foundations or vertical elements like columns and walls during winter, Concrete Antifreeze AC1000 prevents deterioration of concrete quality due to water freezing.

  • Production of precast concrete elements in low‑temperature factories

In factories with low ambient temperatures, this admixture ensures defect‑free precast products with high strength.

  • Emergency repairs of concrete structures

When cracks or damage occur in concrete structures during cold seasons, this product accelerates setting, enabling quick return of the structure to service.

  • Execution of pavements and flooring in low temperatures

For site paving, road surfacing, or airport runways in cold conditions, antifreeze ensures the final surface achieves full strength and durability.

  • Civil projects in high altitudes or cold regions

In mountainous areas or cities with severe cold climates, this additive is a key factor in preserving concrete quality.

Safety and Storage for Concrete Antifreeze

To use this product safely, the following principles must be observed:

  • Avoid direct contact with skin and eyes; in case of contact, rinse immediately with plenty of water.
  • Store in a dry, cool place away from direct sunlight.
  • Keep the container sealed to prevent evaporation or contamination.
  • Check the expiry date and avoid using expired products.

Dosage of Concrete Antifreeze AC1000

The amount of this product varies based on ambient temperature, cement type, and project conditions. Normally, a dosage of 1–3% of the cement weight is recommended. At lower temperatures, higher dosages are required to ensure full antifreeze performance. For example:

  • At 0 to +5 °C: approx. 1% of cement weight.
  • At −5 to 0 °C: approx. 2% of cement weight.
  • Below −5 °C: approx. 3% of cement weight.

Physical and Chemical Properties of Concrete Antifreeze AC1000

This product, manufactured and supplied by the reputable brand ZORLU Chemical, has precise physical and chemical characteristics that ensure its performance. Typically, this admixture is supplied as a clear or slightly cloudy liquid with a specific gravity of about 1.1 to 1.2 g/cm³. Its pH usually falls within the range of 7 to 9, indicating a neutral nature that is safe for both concrete and reinforcement steel.

Its formulation contains specific compounds that both lower the freezing point of water in concrete and accelerate the cement hydration process. These properties make it possible to perform concrete pouring in harsh winter conditions with minimal risk.

Method of Application for Concrete Antifreeze AC1000

The correct use of this admixture has a direct effect on the final performance of the concrete:

  1. First, calculate the required amount of product according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
  2. The antifreeze can be added to the mixing water or introduced together with the water into the dry cement–aggregate mix.
  3. When using a batching plant, adding the product to the mixing water is recommended.
  4. During the process, monitor the concrete mix temperature and prevent excessive drops.
  5. After pouring, curing the concrete against cold is essential; covering the surface with insulation or using site heaters can be effective.
