Simple U Stopper

عددی

The simple rubber water‑stopper, also known as the U Stopper, is a component made of soft PVC used for sealing plastic water‑stop tie‑rods. This piece blocks the plastic tie‑rod sleeve, preventing the passage of water and liquids. One U stopper is used to seal both end sides of the tie‑rod connector.
Sharing:

Not using a U Stopper during the water‑proofing process of the tie‑rod passage will, over time, cause water and liquid leakage from this area.

Consumption Rate of Simple U Stopper

For each plastic water‑stop tie‑rod, one U stopper is required to seal both end sides of the tie‑rod connector.

Storage and Maintenance of Simple U Stopper

  • Conditions: Keep away from cold and frost, heat, and prolonged direct sunlight.
  • Optimal Temperature: +10°C to +30°C

Physical and Chemical Properties of Simple U Stopper

Physical Properties

  • Made of hard but flexible plastic, primarily polypropylene (PP).
  • Designed in an open U shape that fits onto the tie‑rod sleeve with simple pressure.
  • Very light and compact, causing no obstruction in the space between formworks.
  • Sufficient strength to withstand the lateral pressure of concrete and vibration during casting.
  • Mechanically functions to lock the position of the sleeve or cone to prevent their displacement or removal.

Chemical Properties

  • Resistant to moisture, alkalis in concrete, chlorides, and other aggressive compounds.
  • Chemically inert when in contact with concrete and metals, ensuring no corrosion or degradation over time.
  • Resistant to typical site temperatures (up to about 70 °C) and does not deform under the heat generated by concrete curing.
  • May include UV stabilizing additives for better resistance to sunlight.
  • Non‑toxic and non‑corrosive, but, like other plastics, is not biodegradable and should be recycled.

After the plastic cone of the tie‑rod is removed from the concrete, the U stopper is pressed into the middle section of the tie‑rod.
