Tile Cross Features

  • Creates precise and uniform spacing between tiles
  • Increases speed and accuracy in tile installation
  • Improves the appearance and uniformity of grouting

Tile Cross Consumption

The number of tile crosses required depends on the surface area and tile size. Typically, each square meter of tiling requires an appropriate number of crosses.

Physical and Chemical Specifications of Tile Cross

Physical Specifications:

  • Material: Typically made from polyethylene (PE) or polypropylene (PP) with a pressure‑resistant grade.
  • Shape: Cross‑shaped (four equal arms) or sometimes T‑shaped, for setting uniform spacing between four tiles or in corners.
  • Dimensions: Available in various thicknesses from 1 to 5 mm for regulating tile joints. Some models feature longer or shorter arms.
  • Mechanical Resistance: Designed to withstand the pressure of tiles and mortar without deforming, holding firmly in place.
  • Controlled Flexibility: Not so rigid that it breaks, yet not so soft that it bends.
  • Lightweight and Easy to Install: No special tools required; easily placed at tile junctions.

Chemical Specifications:

  • Resistant to moisture, alkalinity of mortar, and tile adhesive; does not swell, rot, or undergo chemical reactions.
  • Inert toward tiles, mortar, and grout; releases no substances that could affect the final appearance.
  • Thermal Stability: Usable at typical construction project working temperatures (up to about 70 °C).
  • Rust‑proof and non‑corrosive (unlike metals), suitable for use in humid areas such as bathrooms, pools, and kitchens.
  • Non‑biodegradable in nature, but recyclable in the plastics industry.

First, spread the tile adhesive over the desired surface. Then place the tiles in position and insert the tile crosses at the intersections of the tile corners. After the tiles have set, remove the crosses using a pointed object and complete the grouting process.
