Flanged T Stopper

عددی

### Flanged T Stopper (Rubber Water‑Stopper with Flange) The T stopper, also known as the flanged rubber water‑stopper, is one of the key components of the plastic water‑stop tie‑rod. Made of soft PVC, its function is to seal the tie‑rod sections. With an additional flange compared to the U stopper, the T stopper is placed at both ends of the water‑stop pipe, ensuring complete blockage of the plastic tie‑rod ends so that the passage of water and liquids through the tie‑rod is entirely prevented.

Key Points When Using the Flanged T Stopper

Not using the T stopper during the water‑proofing process of the tie‑rod passage will, over time, cause water and liquid leakage from this area.

Consumption Rate of Flanged T Stopper

For each plastic water‑stop tie‑rod, two T stoppers are required to seal both end sides of the tie‑rod connector.

Storage and Maintenance of Flanged T Stopper

  • Conditions: Keep away from cold and frost, heat, and prolonged direct sunlight.
  • Optimal Temperature: +10°C to +30°C

Physical and Chemical Properties of the Flanged T Stopper

Physical Properties

  • Made of polypropylene (PP) or high‑density polyethylene (HDPE), both offering high mechanical strength.
  • Shaped like an inverted T: the vertical stem fits onto the tie‑rod pipe, while the horizontal (flanged) section rests against the formwork surface or adjacent elements.
  • This design increases contact area and provides better engagement with the formwork or surrounding parts.
  • Lightweight, durable, and can be installed manually without tools.
  • Has standard dimensions matching the tie‑rod pipe diameter (typically 20–25 mm) and locks into place by a press‑fit.
  • Resistant to lateral concrete pressure, vibrator‑induced vibrations, and formwork movement.

Chemical Properties

  • Resistant to moisture, alkalis, sulfates, chlorides, and other chemicals present in concrete.
  • Chemically stable and inert when in contact with concrete or reinforcement steel.
  • Maintains shape under the heat produced during concrete curing (about 70–80 °C).
  • Often blended with additives such as antioxidants, UV stabilizers, and heat modifiers to ensure durability in outdoor environments or during long‑term storage.
  • Non‑toxic, non‑corrosive, and environmentally inert within concrete. Not biodegradable in nature but recyclable.

After the plastic cone of the tie‑rod is removed from the concrete, the T stopper is press‑fitted into both end sections of the tie‑rod. Two T stoppers are required for each water‑stop pipe.
